What to Do If Your Dog Is Not Behaving Normally
When your dog's behavior or personality is off, it can be worrisome. Your dog can't communicate with you like a human can, but that doesn't mean it isn't somehow telling you that something is wrong. If your dog has something wrong with them or is acting differently, you need to keep an eye on them to see what may be wrong, as they may tell you in other ways. Keep Track of Their Bathroom Habits
Watch your dog's bathroom habits to see how often they need to go and what may or may not be coming out. If your dog has a bladder infection, for instance, they may not act normal at all and may want to go out more often to go to the bathroom but won't have a lot of urine output. If you suspect a urinary tract infection, you need to get them to the veterinarian for a checkup and treatment. A urinary tract infection can make your dog go downhill quickly, with the infection spreading throughout their body. If your dog's feces is runny or there isn't a lot coming out, but they act like they need to go, they could just be constipated, or they could have something in their intestines. You should keep an eye on your dog and take note of what is coming out. If they continue to have a problem, you need to take them to the vet.
Watch For Itching, Head Flapping, or Whining
If your dog is regularly itching their ears, flapping their ears or head, or whines when you scratch their ears, it could be an ear infection. Look inside the ears to see what is inside. If there's a lot of brown or black discharge, it is most likely an ear infection. Your dog's ears may be so bad that they are causing your dog pain. Be sure to take them to the vet for treatment and keep your dog's ears clean and dry. Yeast can build up, especially when the ears are moist. Dry your dog's ears thoroughly after a bath, especially after a humid day. Clean your dog's ears with a cotton ball and never dig into your dog's ears, as you can damage the ear canal.
